Nearly 115 years after Felton Vollmer led our town founders through a planning effort to construct a “Village Hall,” the people of Winsted will again have the opportunity to make a decision that will shape the future of the community. Spotlight on Winsted “Planning Your History” is the culmination of almost two years of planning by volunteer groups and city officials to bring the ideas inspired by the Minnesota Design Team visit to a community decision-making process. Please use this guide as one of several resources available to you in your decision-making process.

City Hall has rented space for nearly 9 years and currently pays $2,300 a month. A total of $217,800 in rent payments will have been paid from 1997 through the existing lease in November of 2007. Using current lease rates and average increases, the City will pay an estimated $454,596 over the next 10 years for office space.
